High school senior Cody Saltsman has engaged with numerous humanitarian organizations over the years. A member of Key Club International, Saltsman currently serves as his chapter’s senior representative. In this position, he promotes such events as the Electronic Recycling Project, which led to the recycling of more than 20,000 pounds of electronics. Additionally, Cody Saltsman was selected by the organization to speak at an October 2013 Honor America Assembly and present an award to a middle school student.
Saltsman volunteers with other groups as well. During The Salvation Army’s annual fall canned food drive, he assisted in collecting 10,000 items for those in need. He also visits veterans and listens to their life stories as part of Pennies for Patients.
Cody Saltsman also contributes to initiatives benefiting youth in his area. In 2012, he assisted a teacher in creating a float on which students could ride during the town’s Christmas parade. A reading tutor for elementary school students, Saltsman also assisted with a football program for local youth. The recipient of the Steubenville Big Red Drs. Press\Macedonia\Giannamore Student Athlete Award, he has played football for six years.
